School Renovation in Snigurivka - a joint state-private initiative to return education to 1300 Ukrainian children

CPVA has helped bring back to life the only one of the 4 surviving schools in Snigurivka, close to the frontline town on the Ukrainian south.

In the city, where 1,300 children lost the opportunity for offline education, the school has been without windows for a year since liberation.

Lithuania continues to assist Ukrainian communities affected by the war. Despite the blockade on the border and the roads destroyed by the invaders, the windows made for the school were delivered to Lyceum №3.

This only town’s school that can be quickly restored is now being renovated with the help of private company @LTintus which produced and donated windows. Central Project Management with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation joined efforts to implement the project financed by the Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund.

CPVA delivered and installed the windows overcoming obstacles, including the blockade at the borders. The authorities sent Lithuania a gratitude letter, saying it’s not just a renovation project, but a glimmer of hope for local people.

In March 2022, the Russian military occupied the Snigurivka community. The occupation lasted 8 months. People lived without bare necessities like water supply, electricity, and gas. Moreover, occupiers deliberately targeted schools and educational premises. The renovation of lyceum №3 will open doors for local children and teachers to resume offline education.
