On 25 June 2020, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted the Strategic Management Law, amendments to the Budget Structure Law, and changes to nearly 40 accompanying legal acts. These changes establish a reform of strategic management and budget management and create a new integrated strategic management model that combines the formation and implementation of strategic goals with the planning of budget allocations and expenditure control.
On 28 April 2021, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania approved a new Strategic Management Methodology and assigned the CPVA the functions of the methodological consulting assistance center for managing the portfolio of national development programs.
