Objective of the project

To replace the destroyed school by building a new modular school in the Shevchenkova Municipality (Mykolaiv region), which would function as both an educational institution and a community centre, as well as to build a shelter near the school.

Project activities and status

  1. The design of the modular school and new bomb shelter
  2. Construction of the school building (~2000 m2)
  3. Construction of new bomb shelter (for 200 persons)
  4. The involvement of the community/ the establishment of social cohesion hub (community centre)

The project application has now been prepared, a cooperation agreement with the project partner has been signed, and a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the CPVA, the municipality of Shevchenkovska and the project partner, the NGO “Ukraine Resilience”.  The project design specification has been prepared and procurement is ongoing. The first children’s workshop took place, where children learnt about building materials and natural resources and had the opportunity to experiment with mixing different materials.
