CPVA role
- Carry out systematic compliance legal assessments of draft and newly adopted accession-related primary and secondary legislation with the EU acquis upon request.
- If specifically requested by the Commission, provide structured legal opinions and recommendations to support the alignment of Moldovan legislation with EU acquis requirements.
- If specifically requested by the Commission, engage with Government and Parliamentary stakeholders to clarify findings and support the incorporation of recommendations into revised drafts.
- If specifically requested by the Commission, undertake additional activities aimed at improving the quality, consistency, and coherence of legal approximation to the EU acquis.
Overall objective
To facilitate Moldova’s approximation to the EU acquis by enhancing the quality, consistency, and compliance of its legislation through systematic compliance assessments carried out by specialised national and international legal expertise.
Expected Outcome
Improved quality, consistency, and EU acquis compliance of draft and newly adopted accession-related legislation through the systematic use of specialised legal expertise in the legislative process.
Expected Output
A functional, demand-driven compliance assessment mechanism is operational, providing timely legal opinions and recommendations on draft and adopted accession-related legislation.
