On January 23, 2026, Arts Agency Artscape signed a financing agreement with the Central Project Management Agency for the implementation of the project „For Each Other“ No. PIL-SADM-K01-001 (hereinafter referred to as the Project). The Project is financed by the Swiss Confederation and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania (Cooperation Programme between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Lithuania 2022-2029).

Problems addressed by the project

Currently, there are over 200,000 migrants living in the country (according to 2024 data from the Migration Department), who come from geopolitical crisis points such as Ukraine, Belarus, Afghanistan, Iraq, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries, and this number is growing every year. Experts say that the integration of these communities isn’t happening fast enough. Data from a 2023 survey of Lithuanian residents on attitudes towards various social, ethnic, religious, and migrant groups (LCSS Institute of Sociology, Department of Ethnic Studies, and NGO Diversity Development Group) show that social distance is growing in relation to most social groups.

Project Objective

To strengthen the abilities and motivation of third-country nationals – foreign women and their children – to participate in social life through consistent creative, psychosocial and educational activities and innovative psychoeducational tools, in order to reduce social exclusion and increase integration opportunities in municipalities.

Target Groups

  • Foreign women who are citizens of third countries living in Lithuania.
  • Foreign children (aged 10 to 18 or until completion of the general education program) who are third-country nationals living in Lithuania.

The project will focus exclusively on the most vulnerable and socially excluded groups – women and children living in institutions, unaccompanied minors, women and children at social risk.

Project Activities

The project will provide information, training, creative courses and innovative engagement measures, as well as children’s care so that women can fully participate in the activities. The following main activities will take place during the implementation of the project:

  • Provision of psychosocial support – “Creative Missions”;
  • Creation of podcasts and interactive thematic activities (training);
  • Target group and local community cohesion activities (creative activities in Lithuanian museums, traditional ribbon weaving workshops);
  • Children’s activities;
  • Book publishing.

Project Results

The project will increase social ties between migrants and the local community, promote integration at the municipal level, and have a long-term impact on inclusion. The project will provide women with a safe space to learn, socialize, and integrate through experience-based education and creative activities. Children will be provided with safe supervision, games, and education. Overall, this will help create long-term positive change in the well-being of families, strengthen their ties with the local community, and open opportunities for active participation in society.
