Objective of the project

To strengthen Ukraine’s integrated national mine action governance capabilities.

Project activities and status

The insertion of additional national and international human resources and and expertise at the strategic and technical levels of the relevant Ukrainian authorities in charge of mine action.

In 2025, the services of an expert team consisting of 15 national (Ukrainian) experts and 1 international expert were procured. The expert team contributed to strengthening the management of mine action activities in Ukraine in the following areas:

  1. Mine action strategy and policy development (including National Mine Action Strategy and Implementation Plan);
  2. Deregulation and re-engineering of business processes in mine action;
  3. Optimization of donor coordination processes in mine action;
  4. Digitalization and innovation of the mine action field;
  5. Strengthening communication about the mine action field.

Following a four-month project extension, the experts’ contracts were renewed for an additional period, during which they will continue to contribute to strengthening mine action governance in Ukraine.
