Objective of the project

To strengthen human security and community resilience in Armenia and Azerbaijan through improved humanitarian demining in Armenia and enhanced access to safe and reliable school transportation in vulnerable areas.  

Project activities and status

Component 1 “Equipment and Support to the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise (Armenia)”: 

1. Identification of necessary equipment and supplies (incl. their technical specifications) and priorities; 
2. Public procurement; 
3. Contracting and delivery of equipment; 
4. Training in how to use the equipment, if necessary. 

Component 2 “To strengthen national demining capacity in Armenia and the technical role of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise”: 

1. Decontamination of the territory; 
2. Development of demining standards for daily activities. 

Component 3 “Support for the education systems of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivering transport vehicles for schools”: 

1. Identification of necessary equipment and supplies (incl. their technical specifications) and priorities; 
2. Public procurement; 
3. Contracting and delivery of equipment. 

The project implementation has begun. During the implementation of the first component, a list of equipment required for the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise has been determined and public procurement has been completed, the delivery of the equipment is awaited. During the implementation of the second and third components, needs are being identified.
