Ensuring security
- more effective cooperation and exchange of information between the EU and national law enforcement and other competent authorities;
- strengthening the capacity of law enforcement officials to prevent and combat cross-border, serious and organised crime in order to prevent and combat radicalisation;
- improving the combat against cybercrime.
Instrument for financial support for Border management and visa policy

The share of the European Union is € 330.8 million, the share of Lithuania is EUR 20.9 million).
Directions of investment
European integrated border management
- installing new border surveillance systems at the border with Belarus and upgrading previously installed land and sea surveillance systems at the border with Belarus and Russia;
- upgrading patrol vehicles;
- improving and modernizing border control procedures, improving data collection and exchange of information on document fraud;
- reconstruction of the pier at the Kopgalis barrier of the Coast Guard Coast Guard Detachment;
- border management training for border guards;
- the development and maintenance of the national elements of the entry-exit system (EES), the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), the Schengen Information System (SIS) and the European Asylum Fingerprint Database (EURODAC), and the interoperability of systems;
- Implementation of the Special Transit Scheme.
Common visa policy
- providing an efficient and customer-friendly visa application service;
- developing various forms of cooperation between Member States in the field of visa processing;
- digitization of visas, operation and maintenance of the National Visa Information System (N.VIS).
